Summer 2009

Hi again ^^;;. I haven't wrote a blog lately since last year. So busy. This summer is been so-so. Let's start with June. I was mostly at work. On the other hand, I looking forward to watching some Wimbledon tennis on TV, rooting for Roger Federer to make history, surpassing Pete Sampras' grand slam record. The new Centre Court had a new retractable roof incase if the rains were to come. It was only used once, during the 2nd week of the tournament. June 21, the MMVAs takes place. Ewwww....the Jonas Brothers co-hosting the show. Sorry, Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, and New Kids on the Block are way better than these teen guys. Wish they would have invited Quest Crew ~I heart Hok!!!~ or Katy Perry. Lady Gaga's performance of "LoveGame" and "Poker Face" was sick. Her outfit during the beginning of the performance, was way too revealing (the bottom part of the outfit). At the end, she lights up her boobs with pyro techs (she put it on her outfit). On June 25th, the entertainment world lost a musical artist who's known worldwide - Michael Jackson. He was only 50, just 2 months short from turning 51. A lot of musical artists we seen today, grew up watching him, by his dancing, his voice, and so on. He was an inspiration to all. I grew up listening to some of his songs on radio and TV: "Billie Jean," "Rock with You," "Human Nature," "Will you be there," "Thriller," "Beat it," "Scream," "You Rock my World," "You are not alone," "Bad," and "Black or White." Watching some of his music videos make me laugh, not all of them. Its kind of sick, the way he does it. I remembered in the 4th grade, the class was listening to the song "Heal the World." That was also the song I played at home when I found out my grandma passed away 3 years ago. During his memorial service, his only daughter Paris spoke for the first time saying she had the best father and that she missed him so much. A lot of fans were there for this service along with Michael's family and close friends.

Move on to July, back to Wimbledon, and Serena Williams defeats her older sister Venus in straight sets on the 4th of July, adding a 3rd Wimbledon title to her resume. The Williams Sisters were not finished yet as they won the women's doubles title later on the same day, right after David Nestor of Canada and his doubles partner from Serbia defeated the Bryan Brothers for the men's doubles title. At least Venus feels happy, despite her loss in the women's singles vs her sister. July 5, the men's finals takes place - another Wimbledon rematch from 2004 and 2005 - Roger Federer vs Andy Roddick. Would have been more exciting if Nadal defended his Wimbledon title, but he withdrew due to injury or even Andy Murray (the hometown fav). Had he beaten Roddick in the semi's, the Queen would have attended that final. Midway through the beginning of the 1st set, Pete Sampras' takes his seat in the royal box, witnessing history for Federer or Roddick to win his 2nd grand slam. I was mostly rooting for Federer, since he completed a career grand slam by winning the French Open a month earlier. This match went all the way to 5 sets. It kept going till the 30th game of this set and then.....Federer breaks Roddick and surpasses Petes' record of 14 grand slams. Congratulations to him. He is soon to become a father in the next few weeks. July 9 was the finale of Harper's Island. This series started in early April. Christopher Gorham, who's known for playing Henry Grubstick on Ugly Betty starrs in it as a different Henry, the groom-to-be. Half of the cast in this show is Canadian and so is the filming/setting of the Island itself. The first episode, I went ~oh...Henry so handsome looking without his glasses *goes starry eyed*~. The final episode, I was surprised and shocked that he was one of the killers, the other being John Wakefield ~Hate his character, damn it! Why Henry? Why?~. He turned into kind of a psycho. All he wanted was Abby, his best friend, then half-sister. So he set the wedding up, for Abby to return to the island and kill several of the wedding guests along the way. He wanted to frame Jimmy (Abby's true love) for the murders. It was too intense till the very end, when Abby accidentally stabs Henry to death. The ending felt sad. In all, 4 survived the massacre - Madison (the flower girl), Shea (the maid-of-honor and mother of Madison), Abby (the groom's best friend), and Jimmy (the local and Abby's true love). I don't know why they showed a pre-wedding video at the end. All of them were saying their congrats to the soon-to-be couple, only to be killed later on. A couple of weeks later, I visited relatives cuz it my mom's and uncle's birthday. I should not have eaten that cookies and cream cake, almost had a case of laryngitis the week after, to go along with my allergies. Oh yeah, almost forgot, the week before that, I had a BBQ/karaoke with some of my mom's co-workers from work.

August, its a long weekend =D on the first week. Terrible news on the first day of August....at 3:18am, Cory Aquino, first female President of the Philippines and Asia passes away of complications from a 16-month battle with colon cancer. All of the Filipinos there, including the Aquino family, are grieving her loss. The local news had the headline "Thank You Cory." Several ABS-CBN (or TFC - outside the Philippines) shows, including Wowowee gave a moment of silence for the former president. The viewing for her body was in 2 places. One was in a school from Sunday to Monday, and the other was at the Manila Cathedral from Monday to Wednesday. Coincidence, this was the same church where my uncle on my dad's side got married back in 1995. August 5th, the former president is finally laid to rest next to her husband. It all started with a funeral mass at 9 in the morning. That lasted probably 2-3 hours. Next up, was to take her body on a truck, surrounded with 4 honor guards (air force, police, navy, and army) for the entire day until night. Originally, this would be a short trip to the cemetery, but the Filipinos/supporters were blocking the road, paying respect to her. Its almost similar to that of her husband Ninoy. I thought those 4 guards were statues at first. Oops...they were real, despite the people throwing confetti, coins, or flowers at them (they're standing the whole day and they cannot move). By 8 in the evening, it finally reaches its final destination. The 5 children of the late president say their final goodbyes. Before the tomb (with the coffin inside) was to be sealed, family members of the Aquinos put yellow flowers (yellow was her fav colour) inside her tomb. Go back to August 2nd, and I visited relatives in Mississauga, another BBQ and I get to play Wii again. Looks like i'm getting better when playing the tennis on the Wii Sports. The funny part of it was when all the doubles players were me (my mii). I managed to get a home run in the baseball portion of it. Not only I played Wii Sports, but also Wii Play. The 2nd week of August was the premieres of ABDC4 and SYTYCD Canada 2. The latest season of ABDC4 resemble that of the 2nd season. The crews were diverse. Hopes there's a change that a female crew or a co-ed crew wins it. SYTYCD Canada 2, again better then the US version (season 5), though the host Leah Miller looks uglier than the 1st season last year. Its like she woke up from bed and looks so dreadful during the audition episodes. At least the finals week wasn't as cruel as the latest season from the US. August 20, after the last few days of getting summer temperatures, we end up in a massive thunder/tornado storm. I totally freaked @_@! Luckily, I didn't see a tornado or had a blackout in our area. The houses north of us (Vaughan and Woodbridge) were affected as the roofs of some the homes were torn off, exposing the bedrooms. Feel bad for the owners. As a result of the storm, the temperatures went down. The morning feels like in spring while the afternoon is not extremely hot. It also affected the Rogers Cup (tennis) at York University. The women from the WTA tour are playing in this one week tournament, as part of the US Open Series. I was happy Maria Sharapova made the final, but disappointed that she didn't win the title because of fatigue from her semi-final match with another Russian the night before.

August 31, the last day of August and the 1st week of September, the last grand slam in tennis begins. Summer vacation for the kids is almost over. The top half in the women's singles were filled with upsets from the new tennis youngsters who just turned pro recently. Sharapova was among those who were cut earlier along with Dementieva, Ivanovic, Jankovic, and Safina. Kim Clijsters beaten both the Williams sisters en route to her first grand slam final in 2 or 3 years since her retirement. Her semi final match with Serena Williams was controversial. Serena apparently did a foot fault, as noted by the lineswoman. She said something mean to her, kind of threatening. That eventually cost her the match, giving Clijsters a trip to the final. On the men's side, no upsets in the first few days until Andy Roddick was eliminated on the Labour Day weekend, thus opening the door for Djokovic to potentially face Federer in the semis. The tournament was on schedule until 9/11, which rained for the entire day. It was a gloomy day in The Big Apple, on that terrible day that happened 8 years ago. That pushed the matches one day later, making the women's and men's final to be held on Sunday and Monday respectively like last year's. The men's semi (on Sunday) between Federer and Djokovic was intense. Near the end of the 3rd set, Federer did this sick move by hitting the ball in between his legs and goes over the net, that eventually gave him match point. Djokovic's reaction - wt*?! Later in the evening, it was the women's final. Kim Clijisters defeated Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in straight sets. What a surprise for the Belgian who came back from retirement. She posed with the trophy along with her daughter. Too bad I wasn't able to see it since I didn't have TSN2. The next evening was the men's final between Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina. Of course, Federer was the one to take the title, since he had beatin Del Potro 5 or 6 times straight. This final went to 5 sets and Federer let his 6th US Open title slip away from him. It was similar to his loss at Wimbledon last year for 6 straight as well. Del Potro defeated Federer, thus giving him his first major grand slam title. Next up, the MTV Music Video Awards. This was aired on Sunday, around the same time as the US Open Women's final, also in New York. The beginning was supposed to be the headline of the show. It was a Michael Jackson tribute. Madonna started it off by telling Michael's life and how she became friends with him. It follows by several dancers performing to his hits "Thriller," "Bad," and "Smooth Criminal" till finally Janet Jackson appears to perform "Scream." For the dance sequence part, Janet is digitally cut off from the video, so that her present self is dancing in sync with Michael (who is in the video screen). The audience gave a standing ovation, including the celebs/guests. The awards show was going as planned, until Kanye West spoiled it by going up on stage and interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech after winning 'Best Female Video.' He said that Beyonce, who was nominated for the same award, should have won. As a result, he was kicked out of the venue, walking empty handed without winning a Moonman. The show continued, though fans were booing whenever his name has been mentioned. Near the end of the awards, after Beyonce won 'Video of the Year' for her hit "Single Ladies," she called Taylor Swift back on stage to have her moment once again, by resuming her acceptance speech, which was interrupted earlier.

And that's that. As I was saying, my summer was so-so. I didn't travel anywhere this summer. The best part was watching tennis and playing the Wii, though I have yet to buy one. The sad part was losing 2 icons (one in music and another in politics). That's all for now.

Summer 2008

Ok...where do I start?

First of all, I'm still working (at my mom's work on contract) + volunteering at Sunnybrook Hospital Monday afternoons. Some things are new such as getting a new car and a new haircut, that was less than 20 bucks. I'm watching tv shows like 'My Girl' starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson (Kimerald), I Survived a Japanese Game Show,' 'Ugly Betty,' and 'America's Best Dance Crew.' Near the end of June, visitors/relatives/friends started to come over to our place.

June - It was the month where I got a new car + haircut. Oh yes, my close friend graduated from college. Congrats ^_^! He called me on the phone and informed me, not only the graduation and his artwork, he's getting his wisdom teeth out in the middle of July. I was like 'Nooooo! Its going to be painful!' I totally scared him cuz there was going to be anesthesia involved since I got mine out on the 4th of July last year. ~I'm so sorry!~ June 28, my extended cousin came over to Toronto from Vancouver just for the morning. Took her to The Pickle Barrel in downtown before dropping her off at Union Station to catch a train to Ottawa for the Canada Day long weekend. It was short, she should have stayed longer!

July - My dad's classmates and their families were next. Eleven people in my house?! You've got to be kidding me! They came near the 4th of July weekend for a picnic. Originally, it was supposed to be Centre Island. Instead, we ended up at the Scarborough Bluffs. I hanged out in the sun too much and got sunburned on my arms. My feet left marks from the flip-flops I was wearing. That included getting dirty with sand and stepping into Lake Ontario. No swimming allowed though. Afterwards, we all went to Mandarin. ~All you can eat!~ Few weeks later this month, we went to a party for an extended relative on my mom's side. It was her 80th birthday. In my opinon, my grandma's 80th was way better than this cause it was in the Philippines and we were dressed formal and it was planned well not rushed...that was 4 years ago. Around this time, 'I Survived a Japanese Game Show' had just begun this month. Notice I keep writing a summary of weekly episodes on my alter ego's Facebook. It terms of weather this month, it was mix of heat, smog, and rain/thunderstorm. It has been a wet summer lately in contrast with the snow we had in January to March of this year.

August - My cousin from Atlanta was next. I didn't even know at first he was related to me. He brang his Wii console...and I went 'I'm off the computer, let's play the Wii!' On the first night, we played it for 3 straight hours and i'm getting addicted to it. Some of the Wii games included Wii Sports and MarioParty8. I choose Toadette for this game cuz it was cute. ~(imitating Toadette) Toadette's the Winner ^_^!~ July 31, they went to Niagara Falls. I didn't go cuz I had work. I was home alone for awhile, after work. ~POV - I get to play the Wii myself for the whole afternoon heheheh ^_^~ I played this one Wii game: Mario and Sonic @ the Beijing Olympics. You may say, I sucked at every event on this game - rowing, track and field, swimming, table tennis. Finally, I did so well for once by playing the gymnastics portion, the vault. Yay! I won a virtual Olympic gold medal lol. Maybe that was luck. They didn't come home till 10:30pm. August 1, my cousins on my moms side came over and we're clinged to the Wii and playing the Olympics game. I played the fencing portion and I won a vitual silver Olympic medal. I lost to Daisy damn it! August 2, we took them to downtown. Me and my cousin are trying to take pics ourselves. It was awkward at first, and then some of the pics turned out good. This was the first time i'm going to the skypod of the CN Tower. It had a way better view than the observation deck. Looks like i'm not scared of walking through the glass floor; however, I refuse to lie down on it. There's even a mini glass floor inside the elevator going up the CN Tower. Afterwards, we took them to The Pickel Barrel followed by the Eaton Centre and City Hall. August 3, we were invited for dimsum courtesy from my aunt and her family. The restaurant is full of Chinese. A lot of them are waiting outside to get to a table. Afterwards, we went to the Casa Loma. This is the first time I went inside of it. I went up the highest tower and there's this spiral staircase. This looks familar. Coincedently, this was the actually the tower that was used in Goosebumps 'A Night in Terror Tower.' After that, we went home and played the Wii some more incluing a new game that he bought: 'Top Spin 3.' He likes watching tennis and so do I. It seems that i'm good at playing the doubles portion than the singles since our doubles partners are computer players. August 4, they had to leave to go back to Atlanta. (Groans) Wahh...no more Wii to play T_T at he same time i'm also crying while watching 'My Girl.'
A week later, my close friend came over. He gave me some manga + a wallet or pencil case. This is the first time I ever had manga He told me he's going to NYC on the 23rd to 26th of August. I might be going there too, except its on the Labor Day weekend for me.
Labor Day weekend arrives and yay, I'm going to America! This time my fam took the new car going there. Friday the 29th, it was raining (just showers), which made our new car wet and dirty =(. Going pass the border wasn't such a problem. There was some traffic in the freeway due to construction on the mini Interstate bridges. Also went with us, was the GPS to take us there. By the time we arrived at our destination, it was sunny and humid/hot. The trip took 11 hours, that includes pitstops. We arrived at my aunt's house...~hahaha surprised her XD!~ Few hours at night, I visited my cousin who lives few blocks from where we are sleeping at. She wasn't home yet as she was still working at Bloomingdales in NYC. Nearly 10:30 she arrived and I was about to go sleepy. Saturday the 30th, my fam along with one of my relatives went to Woodbury Commons. We should have arrived earlier as the parking was packed. Instead, we chose valet parking. Its crowded with shoppers/tourists cuz there's a sale this Labor Day weekend. In my opinion, there was not much of a sale...totally ripped off. The Coach Store had a line up from the outside, similar to a Boxing Day/Thanksgiving Day sale. I didn't bother to go in there. The same with the Gucci store. Every shopper I seen had carried something from Coach, Timbaland, Sketchers, Juicy Couture, North Face, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike etc. I did not buy anything there. I'm saving it for the Japanese mall the next day. After shopping at Woodbury, we went to Newport Mall next. My relative bought me a new sweater for work from Hollister. I wanted to go buy new earrings, but its not on sale. After shopping for almost the whole day, my cousin and relatives came over to where were sleeping at (my Aunt's house) and ate pizza and garlic bread + watch some Wowowee. Sunday the 31st, another sunny day. We first went to mass and then we went to the Japanese mall: The Mitsuwa Marketplace (yata ^_^!). It was nearly lunch time when we arrived there. On the way, I also had a glimpse of NYC and it was very nice. Instead of the usual Chinese people I see when I seldom go to Pacific Mall in Markham, Ontario, its full of Japanese people this time. The food there is cheap compared to here in Toronto. I treated my relatives and my p-rents for Japanese food. Before we order, we look at the replicas of the dishes that are being offered. We all took the same order [2 tempuras, 2 croquettes, crab potato, salad, misu soup, 2 sauces, a bowl of rice, and dessert]. The food was on me (I payed for it). Unfortunately, we're not supposed to take it home. In other words, no take-out, just dine-in only. Exceptions: groceries, bubble tea, Japanese desserts. After the main course, my aunt bought a Japanese dessert which contains red bean paste inside it. I don't know what's the name of it though, but it tasted really good despite it was cooked hot. I did manage to do some shopping while I was there. I bought two handmade glass cell phone ornaments and a Japanese charm to put in the new car. One of the cell ornaments I got matched my birthstone color (December) - topaz. ~pov - I felt I was in the Japanese market bwhahahahaha. I would have gone into the bookstore/video store too.~ After Mitsuwa, my fam had to pack up our stuff and say goodbye to my relatives on my mom's side as we were headed to my relatives on my dad's side in Bloomfield, NJ for that night with the GPS to take us there. They treated us for Mexican food at Chevy's. Before that, my extended cousin/nephew cooked burgers for us and then the rest of my relatives came. September 1st, it was time to go home. This time there was no traffic/construction on the Interstates because of the holiday. The only traffic was on the 401 west because everyone was headed home from Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston, USA, etc. We came home around 4 in the afternoon, the usual time I finsh work. It went so fast. I would have stayed in NJ/NYC for a few more days, but I have to go back to work the next day. September 5, the finale of 'My Girl.' I totally cried anime style. It was a mix of both ^_^ and T_T....so touching. Not only a purposal was involved, a wedding as well. That wasn't in the original. Now that we're in the middle of September, summer is almost ending and autumn will come soon including a new season of 'Ugly Betty' and 'Amazing Race' near the end of this month.

Spring 2008

Hello again. There's not much to say. I have been busy working...at my mom's work that is. It's only a contract from an employment agency (Kelly Services). It's not easy looking for a job. I took almost eight months off last year looking for a job since August. Since I did not have much experience, I had no choice but to work via an employment agency. It has been nearly six months. If that's not enough, I recently started volunteering at Sunnybrook Hospital at the Health Information Centre on Monday afternoons. I might get a job there since there are a lot of administrative/clerk positions posted there than in Scarborough. Its not that easy...HR is so strict -_-. If I can't get the hospital job I wanted, I probably might have to move and work abroad in the states (NYC or LA) or in Manila. It will take awhile before I get that job.

Next topic: television. Oh yes, the usual reality shows is rigged in my opinion. America's voting off the wrong people.

American Idol 7 - I think Ramielle Malubay should have been in the top 5 instead of Brooke White, Carly Smithson, or Kristi Lee Cook. Luckily, she'll be making the tour this upcoming summer. I'm rooting for David Archuleta...*screams non-stop*. He makes the girls go gaga all they want. He should be the next Idol. He has never been in the bottom before. My instinct is that the two David's (Cook and Archuleta) will make the final two and Syesha will miss out on the final and finish in 3rd place.

Dancing with the Stars 6 - So far, my favs are still in the competition. The team I really want out is Marissa and Tony. They should have been eliminated...instead they were spared beating out Shannon Elizabeth and Mario. I went BOO! when they were announced they were safe. For some reason, I don't like her nor even heard of her. I heard she was from Hairspray in 88. Since defending champ pro dancer Julianne Hough was eliminated, Cheryl Burke has a chance to win the title for a 3rd time. She's still in this competition along with her partner Christian de la Flente vs competitors Kristi & Mark, Marissa & Tony, & Jason & Edyta. My instinct is that Kristi & Mark and Jason & Edyta will make the final two. Winner pick: Kristi & Mark. If they win, Kristi will be the second female star and Mark Ballas will be the second professional male dancer to win since season one. The last four seasons were dominated by male celebrities: Drew Lachey, Emmet Smith, Apollo Anton Ohno, and Julio Cerventes. There professional dance partners were Cheryl Burke (Lachey and Smith) and Julianne Hough (Ohno and Cerventes).

America's Best Dance Crew season 1 - I was a bit pissed the Status Quo made the finals by being the top dance crew that week before the final episode beating out Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern. Some people think it was rigged and because they don't want to lose their African-Black-American viewers by eliminating Status Quo. It was a tense battle between the west coast crews Jabba vs Kaba. Jabbawockeez totally killed that performance thus eliminated Kaba Modern, who danced it solidly and finished in 3rd place. The finale episode had all the eliminated dance crews come back to dance in their crew group (West, South, East, and Midwest) respectively. The result: Jabbawockeez wins ABDC season 1. I was pleased that they won. Season 2 is goin to debut in the summer. It also coincides with So you Think you can Dance? season 4. Its goin to be tense, which show is America goin to watch? A hip-hop show consisting of groups or a mixed dance show consisting of partners and individuals?

As for dramadies, yes Ugly Betty has come back after being off the air due to the writer's strike. I love Henry and Betty ^_^! I went grrrr when Charlie came back to the show...BOOO! Charlie, you shouldn't be there. Betty was supposed to hav her birthday with Henry or Gio. What will Betty choose to fall in love with? Henry or Gio? The finale in 2 weeks time = [SPOILER: Henry is goin to pop the question to Betty and she has to make the toughest decison on who she's goin to spend the rest of her life with.]It also revolves around Daniel's relationship with Renee. Last weeks episode was so intense. I was scared that Betty's goin to die in the fire in Daniel's apartment. Renee went crazy convinced that Betty might be dating Daniel, but she actually isn't. She only has a crush on him. In the end, Renee goes to an asylum. As for Wilhelmina, I don't want to talk about her upcoming offspring using Christina as the mother. What she's doing is wrong. She just wants to take over Mode. I'm hearing the Lindsay Lohan and Naomi Campbell are making an appearance in the finale. To be honest, I'm not that excited for Lindsay Lohan making an appearance as Betty's former high school classmate. She's going to play the mean girl that she is.

That's all I can say for now.

Holiday season 2007

Well, its that time of year again: Christmas. For once this year, I have real work experience (from an agency) and get paycheques by mail. Still, I want to work in the hospital, but it hasn't been that easy. Volunteering would be one way, but there's no pay -_-. My 20th birthday, didn't do anything much except seeing the snow fall hard, watching Amazing Race Asia on Youtube, listening to J-pop songs on imeem, and going to Facebook, of course. I don't feel bored at all. I did get my shopping done with the last of my lottery money...can't tell what I bought heheheh. The second year living in a house.....much better. New things come around, replacing the old stuff from the condo. I still liked watching Ugly Betty. I became obsessed with making Ugly Betty vids (mostly consisting of Henry and Betty) than my usual Cardcaptor Sakura/Tsubasa vids. All my UB vids got honored on Youtube for at least two days...take that biach ex-friend/classmate[clue: has a (fluff)pet named kirari on FB]. At least she's out of my life. I would feel uncomfortable if I invited her to some party or a trip like HK purhaps. Too bad there's no new Ugly Betty episodes because of the writers strike that's been going on. I'm glad there's still Amazing Race. On Christmas Eve, I invited my friend over *goes ^_^!* throughout the afternoon. It was great seeing him again. He even baked a cake and I liked it. I thought it was marble cake, actually its a cheesecake. Afterwards, went to mass and then went to spend Christmas Eve dinner at my neighbours. I got a chance to play the Wii for the first time + a little bit of Guitar Hero II. I stayed there up to 1:30, Christmas morning. Few hours later, they'll be coming to my house for Christmas. My cousins where also invited. Same with some of my dad's classmates. We had a lot of food to eat....yum! I showed them Japanese game clips on Youtube such as Human Tetris (Brain Wall), a game that reminds me of MXC [involves falling into steaming hot water], and one involving humans dressed as bugs and spider custumes. Later on, it was time to open gifts. I had some new clothes, a movie pass for two, a new USB that kind of looks like a candy bar, a cute painting/drawing, and of course, money. Boxing day, I didn't go out except sleep in for as long as I want to. The day after and Friday, back to work again. Can't wait for New Year 2008 to come in...I can't wait to find a permanent job. Its still a long way to go.

Autumn Vacation 2007

Canadian Leg (6 days)

October 16 - My relatives arrive in Toronto in the afternoon and ate out at Kelsey's for dinner

October 17 - Went to Niagara Falls. I did had good shots of the falls. Too bad we didn't go to the Maid of the Mist this time cuz it closed by the time we got to the booth near 5pm. I didn't get a chance to go to the casino either. Luckily, I checked out Clifton Hill.

October 18 - Went shopping at the nearest mall (Scarborough Town Centre) and ate out at Mandarin for dinner. I was able to see Ugly Betty @ 11pm...phew! Wait till 10/27 to see the dress and shoes my relatives bought for me.

October 19 - Met my aunties relatives. Treated them for Swiss Chalet and then went to Edwards Gardens.

October 20 - House blessing at my house. This time with family. You may say its a party.

October 21 - Attended mass at the former church I used to go to: St. Bonaventure. Afterwards, went to the Casa Loma, CN Tower, and the Eaton Centre. Finally, I had one of those tna bags that everyone is wearing at my school from that store Aritzia.

NJ/NYC leg (1 week)
October 22 - Took the long long drive to NJ/NYC. This is the 3rd time i'm eating McDonald's. I ate McDonald's on the 18th and the 21st...i'm not kidding. We arrived at my Mama Mel's house in Bloomfield around 11pm.

October 23 - Went to Caesars palace in Atlantic City. Ate lunch at the La Piazza Buffet at Caesars. The boardwalk is so breezy. Went a little shopping at the Outlet Mall.

October 24 - Went to the Garden State Plaza to go shopping for 7 hours. Ate Japanese food from Sarku Japan and ice cream for dessert from Dippin' Dots in what its called the ice cream of the future.

October 25 - Went on the 'Spirit Of New York Cruise' through upper Manhatthan and the Bronx courtesy from my cousin/nephew. I was able to see the Empire State Building but not the Statue of Liberty. The George Washington Bridge was huge when you're close to it. The crew was entertaining and doing some impersonations such as The Village People. The other cruise (Spirit of New Jersey) I rode in years ago took us pass lower Manhatthan and the Statue of Liberty. I saw a glimpse of ground zero beofre heading back to NJ. Afterwards, we went to the Marriott Courtyard (close to Newport Mall) for one night then went a little shopping at Newport Mall. Finally had a bed in a bag + managed to watch Ugly Betty in the hotel room. However, I missed only the first 5 minutes of it.

October 26 - Went shopping again at Newport Mall. Ate Sarku Japan again for lunch including some sushi. It's also the eve before my cousins/niece's wedding. Nuptual rehearsal was at St. Aedan R.C. Church and dinner rehearsal was at Rose & Joe's Italian Restaurant. Afterwards, we took our belongings to the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel to sleep for 2 days. The hotel does look like a castle, just what the Sheraton website said.

October 27 - The day of my cousins/niece's wedding. My Aunt treated us breakfast from our hotel room rather than downstairs for the complimentary breakfast. It was a rainy day at first prior to the wedding. We kinda got lost on the way to the church for the ceremony. By the time we arrived at the church, the bride (my cousin/niece) had arrived. I tried to get good shots, but the pictures turned kind of dark. When the ceremony was over, it was sunny outside. I heard it brings good luck when it turns out to be sunny. We got kinda lost again on the way back to the hotel for the reception/cocktail party for the wedding. I know almost all the guests where hungry and went straight to the food and not the seats during the Cocktail hour. An hour later, we moved to the reception. There was a photo booth (the ones you see in a shopping mall) outside the ballroom. Reason it was there because the couple wanted a scrapbook with all the guests. Some of the guests (bridesmaids and groomsmen) where making poses such as a peace sign or being silly on their photos. On the sheet to put the photo, it asked where did we come from and how many miles, any advice for the couple, any memories of the couple prior to getting married, etc. I didn't eat much of the main course during the reception cause of the fact I ate more during the cocktail hour. On the projector, there was a montage of the two, when they were young, how they met, and tributes to their fathers. Everyone was in awe. Same with the parent-couple dance. My cousins/nephews where crying when they were dancing with her. Their speeches to the couple where good. The groom has a big family and they're so tall. Two of the groom's sisters caught the brides bocquet. It almost came to me, but i'm so young to do this ^^;;. Again, I took some good shots of the couple during the wedding cake part. The wedding was more lively and everyone was happy. Not much people ate the desserts. The day went so fast. After the reception and the wedding was over, we took the bridesmaids flowers to our room and took some photos with it.

October 28 - We got treated to breakfast by my Mama Mel at the hotel. We then checked out and took some pics of the hotel before we went back to Bloomfield to get the rest of our stuff. We got kinda lost again along the way and stopped by the 'Super Stop & Shop' to shop for chocolate. She treated us for lunch at the IHOP (International House of Pancakes) Restaurant, near her house. After lunch, my family went to visit my relatives on my mom's side and ate dinner at my cousin's house. After saying goodbye, we went to the Courtyard Marriott @ Newark Airport to spend our final night in NJ/NYC.

October 29 - We checked out of the hotel and said goodbye to my relatives T_T. They where returning back to the Philippines and California. On the way back, we had few stopovers including The Crossings Outlets in Tannersville, Pennsylvania to do some last minute shopping before crossing the border in Canada.

Michigan Leg (2 days)
November 9 - Going to the states again, this time Michigan with my dad's classmates. The drive didn't take long heading into Michigan via Sarnia. It only lasted 6 hours long. We slept at one of my dad's classmates house for the next 2 days. Very nice house I seen.

November 10 - We went to a Christmas store in Frankenmuth and then went to the Prime Outlets in Birch Run, which is nearby. Lots of people, particularly Ontarians shopping there. There were line ups/sales at Coach (kind of looks like a Boxing Day shopping), the Bath and Body Works Outlet, and the Bass Store. Got myself a new pair of shoes from Bass and a Liz Claiborne bag from the Liz Claiborne Outlet Store. It said 'Buy one, take one free.' I took the matching wallet as the 'free item.' Afterwards, we went to another outlet mall, the Great Lakes Crossing which is an indoor mall like the one in Buffalo. I was able to get hand soap (Cherry blossom flavor) at the Bath and Body Works Outlet.

November 11 - We were meeting up with another of my dad's classmates, this time in Windsor, Ontario. It took half and hour to get pass the Detroit-Windsor border via the Ambassador Bridge. I saw the skyline of Detroit, but it was so cloudy and foggy (-_-). After eating lunch in Windsor, we took the long drive along the 401 back to Toronto.

What's up lately...after graduation?

One month ago, I graduated from college and I received my diploma. I managed to introduce Fan to my parents ^_^. During the ceremony, I was sitting behind Karissa and in front of Fan. What a coincedence ^^;;. It was damn hot inside the DEL Gym. They should have put A/C in that gym. The graduation in my high school was more worse. It took place in a church in the heart of Greektown. When it comes to grad outfits, everyone was wearing anything they want. It didn't have to be formal since it was hot. Some of them were wearing flip-flops instead of high heels. It was also the day to see that bitch Steph for the last and final time. Good riddence! I bet she kicked herself off of Facebook cuz I signed up for it in May. The day after I graduated, I had a mini grad party with my family and friends at Mandarin. I haven't seen Jen in awhile. Thank goodness for Facebook cuz I reunited with her. Afterwards, we took them to my house. As always, Kelvin was drawing something new. I even showed them my bedroom. Never done that before...hehe. I received graduation cards and gifts. My cousins gave me some money. One being origami style. It had $95 cuz it signified the age I am today. I'm only $5 bucks short and I haven't turned 20 yet. It's still a long way. Nickesha gave me earrings and Kelvin gave me an anime CD to listen to. I just put some of the songs to my ipod. I'm still liking it. Beginning of July, I had my wisdom teeth removed on the 4th. I was asleep, so I don't know what was going on. The next few days I was in pain *cries*. I had to be in bedrest, put ice on my cheeks, take antibiotics, eat soft foods including pudding, noodles, and ice cream, and gurgling with salt water. Few weeks later, and I'm feeling better. I'm starting to go back to eating regular foods including sushi. As for my CCS videos, I managed to make one with the song "The Way I Are" by Timbaland. I also had to repost my old CCS videos I made from my previous popular Youtube account. Too bad I'm not going to post the CCS vids with Japanese songs cuz it will get flagged. I been on a long vacation since the end of April. Next on the list...look for a job. I'm aiming for the hospitals as long as its not on the west end or north of the city. I prefer downtown particularly SickKids. My field placement for semester 4 was at Safe Kids Canada, which is part of SickKids. I hope I can get a chance to get hired in a hospital. Speaking of movies, i'm going to see 'Hairspray' with my cousins. Wished I had a chance to see 'Rush Hour 3'...but its going to be a busy schedule. The following movies I seen during this long vacation break: The DaVinci Code, Akeelah and the Bee, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, Sympathy for Mr. Vengence, Jet Li's Fearless, World Trade Center, Dark Water in both the English and Japanese versions, Aquamarine, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Harry Potter 4, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I heard next month on TMN that Snakes on a Plane will makes its premiere on August 23 I think.

That's all I have to say...Sayonara.
